Health an Safety Policy

Clearwater Irrigation regards the safety and health of its employees as a matter of highest priority and is committed to a safe working environment. We believe that it is every worker’s right to work in a safe and healthy work environment and as such, we will conduct our business on the principle that our work is never so urgent or important that we cannot take time to do it safely.

Employees at every level, including management, are responsible and accountable for the company’s overall safety initiatives. Complete and active participation by everyone, every day, in every job is necessary for the safety excellence the company expects. Management supports the coordination of safety amongst all workers.

Management supports participation in the Health and Safety program by all employees and provides proper equipment, training and procedures. Employees are responsible for following all procedures. A priority is working safely and, whenever possible, improving safety measures. Management shall ensure the company will work with all personnel in the development and implementation of their health & safety program.

To ensure the success of the program supervisors will:

  • Provide instruction to all new workers in the safe performance of their work.
  • Provide each employee with a copy of the Company Safety Program.
  • Ensure that workers demonstrate their stated work abilities before those workers are permitted to commence work.
  • Take immediate corrective action on observed or reported unsafe or hazardous conditions and activities.
  • Not allow any worker to engage in any activity when the worker’s action indicates that there is reasonable cause to believe that to do so would create an undue hazard to the health or safety of any person.

An injury and accident-free workplace is our goal. Through continuous safety and loss control efforts, this is achievable.

All contractors working with Clearwater Irrigation are required to comply with all WSIB Regulations, Clearwater Irrigation Policies, and Procedures, and provide supervision for their employees.

It is the responsibility of all employees to comply with the company rules and procedures and the Legislation/Regulations applicable to our operation. Clearwater Irrigation is aware of the importance of its health and safety policy.
